Keeping track of watercraft is no easy task - but Rastrac can help!
Boats, jet skis, and other watercraft are expensive – and handing the keys to an operator is loaded with a multitude of risks. With one of Rastrac’s GPS tracking devices and our intuitive asset tracking system, you can create multiple geofences in areas of the water that you don’t want your property to enter.
When a watercraft enters any of these geofences, you and the operator can receive a text message warning them to leave the area. If the watercraft doesn’t leave the area, you have an option to trigger an alarm on the watercraft as an additional method to warn the operator to leave the area immediately.
When the watercraft enters one of these determined areas, the alarm and light are activated allowing the operator to course correct.
When the watercraft exits one of these determined areas, the alarm and light are deactivated.
Notifications are one of Rastrac’s powerful tools. The following is an example one of our marina customers developed to ensure customers are met at the dock in a timely manner: “SUNFISH24 has triggered the notification – SUNFISH24 is returning to the marina. You have 2 minutes”. In this case, they have it popup on the PC screen in the dock hand shack and a unique sound is played in conjunction with the popup.
This takes little time to set up but allows their employees to handle multiple tasks rather than standing on the dock waiting for a watercraft to return, which is what they did before they had Rastrac.
In summary, it provides for increased customer service and employee efficiency.
